HAMikro biomethane station in Lleida

The HAM Group has put into service its third HAMikro refueling station in Lleida, which allows the refueling of biomethane derived from a wastewater treatment plant (WWTP). The facility, owned by FCC Aqualia, consists of a fuel compression system that uses a low flow compressor, a device that allows the storage of biomethane in high pressure bottles (CNG) and a vehicle pump dispenser.

The HAMikro service station is part of the SMART Green Gas project, co-financed by the European Union (EU), which aims to generate renewable local biofuels of compressed biogas (CBG) for compressed natural gas (CNG) vehicles.

Waste water from residents of Lleida is treated in the wastewater treatment plant (WWTP), and the byproduct of the treatment process is cleaned and converted into biomethane suitable for vehicles with a low carbon footprint.
