Calordom, Gebio and Erbi, the first three companies that obtain the seal of quality 'Installer of Biomass Certificate' (IBC) of Avebiom

Avebiom defends the idea of ​​differentiating in the market the companies that bet by offering the client guarantees of quality and control of the facilities.

The president of the Spanish Association of Energy Valorization of Biomass (Avebiom), Javier Díaz, delivered this morning to the representatives of CALORDOM, GEBIO and ERBI of the stamp of 'Certified Biomass Installer' (IBC), which makes them the three first Spanish companies in obtaining this certification. 

"A brand that endorses the quality and specialization in the installation, operation, maintenance and repair of biomass thermal installations", As indicated by Diaz in an act that took place at the headquarters of the National Confederation of Associations of Plumbing, Gas, Heating, Air Conditioning, Fire Protection, Electricity and Allied Companies (Conaif). 

The president of Avebiom has highlighted the importance of "betting on offering the client guarantees of quality and control of the facilities and being able to differentiate in the market the companies that execute their work professionally".

According to data from the Ministry of Industry, in Spain there are more than 30.000 companies trained to perform thermal installations in buildings (RITE). According to estimates from the National Biomass Observatory, which is managed by Avebiom from 2009, an 27% of these companies have operated with biomass equipment on at least one occasion.

By the end of 2018, almost 300.000 biomass installations for thermal use were operating in Spain. Most are small power equipment, stoves and boilers of less than 50 kW for the domestic heating sector.

Certification

This seal has been launched in collaboration with the Institute of the Construction of Castilla y León (ICCL), which acts as a certification entity throughout the national territory. ICCL, as an external certification entity, contributes to the model developed by Avebiom the guarantee of impartiality, technical competence, transparency and confidentiality necessary throughout the certification process. The scope of certification extends to the entire value chain, including the design, assembly, operation, maintenance and repair of facilities.

The technical director of ICCL, Felipe Romero, and the head of certification of this entity, Javier Vielba, showed that this certification "is born with a national vocation, so that it will soon allow offer quality guarantees through companies throughout Spain. " In fact, they said, the first three certifications "already reflect that trend, given that they are companies from Andalusia, Madrid and Castilla y León."

To obtain the seal, installers have to comply a series of defined requirements in the 'Letter of Quality' regarding its organization, the degree of specialization, the experience demonstrated, the conditions of service provision, the response to the client, the availability of qualified technical personnel and the available material resources.

This 'Quality Charter' includes, among other requirements, the commitment to inform the customer of the ideal conditions in which the installation and maintenance must be carried out, as well as the advice to choose the most efficient technical solution; and the obligation to deliver a detailed invoice in accordance with the approved budget.

To access the certification, the company must have a staff of experienced technical staff and be registered in the regional register of installation companies.

The technician, meanwhile, has to meet the training, experience and specialization requirements established in the Professional Profile applicable to his specialty. The certified organization will have a procedure to attend to complaints and claims from its clients.

Certified companies

Heat Erbi. Energy Services Company (ESE) accredited by the IDAE. It is headquartered in Ponferrada (León) and operates in Castilla y León, Asturias, Galicia, Castilla-La Mancha, Extremadura and Madrid. It is a company committed to the quality of the facilities, through the training of its teams of installers and the choice of the best suppliers of equipment and components, and always with special attention to the quality of the biofuel. In fact, it is a pellet distributor company with ENplus certification. Currently, Erbi covers more than 300 facilities, mainly media and large users.

Gebio. An ESE company vertically integrated, with which it has its own means for production, distribution, engineering, installation and maintenance of its facilities with which it performs energy sales services. Enabled in the IDAE Biomcasa Program, it currently manages more than 80 facilities in Spain and Portugal, with its own telemanagement and maintenance service.

Calordom Business group of family origin, with more than 80 years of experience as suppliers of energy services oriented to the maintenance of boiler rooms, solar panels or gas oil and gas supplies, among others. 30 has been working on environmental issues for years and is a pioneer in the implementation of renewable energies throughout Spain and especially in the Community of Madrid.
