Bioenergy Barbero, energy services company and sole distributor based in Salamanca of ENplus® pellet, has recently expanded its biomass collection capacity with the installation of two fully automatic pellet silos.
Expected to close the Andorra thermal power plant in June of 2020, Forestalia proposes the construction of a new pellet plant in the same municipality. With an expected capacity of 200.000 tons per year, thus becoming the largest in Spain. This plant would create 60 direct jobs and more than indirect 350 including the collection and logistics of biomass. Forestalia currently has two such plants, located in Erla and Huerta de Rey.

Also at 2018, imports set a record with a total of 95.000 tons of wood pellets imported into Finland. They increased an 10 percent and were mostly imported from Russia. A total of 43.000 tons were also exported, mainly to Denmark and Sweden.
