On Tuesday, 27, in the CEDER-CIEMAT (Lubia, Soria), an informative day and training workshop is held to present the main results of the Biomasud Plus project.
The development of this initiative has allowed the analysis of almost 350 Mediterranean biomass samples for their standardization and inclusion in the certification system, to which new biomasses have been incorporated; among them, olive tree pruning, vine shoots, walnut and pistachio shells. Furthermore, the methodology for calculating the carbon footprint of the different biofuels has been reviewed, in accordance with the criteria of the European Sustainability Directive; and an online platform has been enabled to calculate the carbon footprint and follow the traceability of certified companies.
