In addition to the Innovation Award given to Sugimat, ÖkoFEN's ZeroFlame technology and Palazzetti's total pellet combustion system will receive second prize.
In this call, and for the first time, the Innovation Award in the field of renewable gases is awarded.
The self-cleaning rotary biomass boiler Horizon + developed and patented by Sugimat After several years of R&D work, it effectively fights against fouling and the formation of deposits inside it even when using complicated solid fuels, maintaining combustion performance and increasing the overall efficiency of the installation.
ÖkoFEN's ZeroFlame technology manages to reduce particulate emissions in pellet boilers to practically negligible levels. A cheaper alternative and easier to maintain than the use of filters. Palazzetti's total combustion system allows you to burn all unburned waste from your equipment into pellets, thanks to the latest generation material with which the brazier of your stoves is made: Thermofix.
The jury has valued these technological developments for their quality of innovation, their originality and applicability and the improvement of energy efficiency that they contribute to the valorization of biomass to obtain thermal energy.
The director of Expobiomasa and secretary of the 2021 Innovation Award jury, Jorge Herrero, confirms that “The final decision has been very tight; both the winner and the second prize are great innovations in search of perfect combustion and minimum emissions. "
First awards from the Renewable Gas Show
On the other hand, in its first edition, the Innovation Award of the Renewable Gas Show has been awarded to the Mixed Renewable Gas Unit (UMGNR) project, developed by the companies Naturgy, EnergyLab and WWTP Bens.
Accompanying him in the second prize are the biofactory developed at the Guijuelo WWTP by FCC Aqualia and a process of logistics, storage and generation of renewable gas from the residue of rice straw developed by Genia Bioenergy.
In addition to these initiatives, another 30 nominations were presented for the 2021 double Innovation Award in bioenergy and renewable gas 2021. In total, nineteen were directed at the bioenergy and solid biomass sector and 17 related to the valorization of renewable gases.
The awards ceremony will take place in Valladolid, on September 21 during the inauguration of Expobiomasa and the Renewable Gas Show. In this double call, the two prizes and four second prizes awarded are endowed with € 2.000 and € 500 each in their respective categories.
