Biofuel sales increase

Pellet sales are steadily increasing throughout Europe. If they already did before the pandemic and the energy crisis caused by Russia, now the demand is growing much faster. For example, Spain and Austria require 100.000 tons more each year, Germany 500.000 and France 300.000.

New plants are being built and existing ones are being upgraded to increase production capacity. When making pellets, improving the energy efficiency and robustness Technological are two factors that equipment suppliers offer in order to maintain ENplus standards.

Offer the fuel more economical and abundant is not at odds with quality, as shown by BIOMASUD suppliers of chips, shells, olive stones,...

The wood, economic and sustainable, also requires a process of handling, cleaning, cutting and drying to reach the consumer and avoid the classic emission problems in traditional open homes.

The consumption of pellets in Europe in pellet stoves and boilers with power up to 50kW for residential heating, reached 14,1 million tons in 2021, in 2020 it was 11,9 million, which indicates an increase of 18% more than the previous year. These are data from the latest Bioenergy Europe Statistical Report.
ECOFRICALIA is the distributor in Spain of the Italian company SMARTWOOD, manufacturer of pelletizing machines, which stand out for fitting into self-consumption projects and/or short marketing channels.
ECOFRICALIA official distributor of Smartwood for the Iberian Peninsula and Latin America, presented this new range of pelletizers at Expobiomasa 2021
Avelino Peláez, head of the Amandus Kahl delegation in Spain, presents the characteristics of the brand's largest capacity granulator mill in the following video. With two 315 kW motors, it achieves a production capacity of up to 12 t / h of wood pellets.
Prodesa brought as a great novelty to Expobiomasa 2021 the ProGranul Toro granulator. It is a product whose design, engineering and manufacture are our own. Alberto Sánchez from PRODESA MEDIOAMBIENTE In this video he explains all the characteristics of the product.
Prodesa Medioambiente presents at Expobiomasa a new optimization process for its clients and performance tests with two different developments to increase production and lower its electricity consumption. The results have been very satisfactory and they are currently working with five more clients to improve their electrical cost per ton of pellets using their method of designing dies.
The company, which manufactures 40.000 tons of pellets per year using forest residues from the area, plans to go on to 60.000 tons per year manufactured. For this reason they have undertaken different investments to improve the plant, the storage system and thus optimize production capacity and reduce costs. This bet has cost Pellets Asturias close to three million euros.
Wood pellets are an important alternative to fossil fuels because they are environmentally friendly, sustainable, and CO2 neutral. And it's an extremely smart way to recover waste from wood treatment. This is evidenced by the growth in demand for forest biomass of 14% worldwide in 2018 (+ 8% in Europe) compared to the previous year.

PRODESA's after-sales division, Smart Operations, works to guarantee the highest quality together with the maximum production of the pellet production plants. PRODESA provides, among other services, the management and supply of rollers and dies of all brands, with its own manufacture and designs. Other services include revamping, improvement and optimization of processes and complete plants, audits, training and specific interventions.
Since January 2021, the importer and distributor of machinery FARMING AGRÍCOLA has obtained energy to heat its offices, workshops and showroom at its headquarters in Palencia thanks to a 180 kW ÖKOTHERM boiler that uses straw pellets of its own production as the only fuel .
The world's leading certification system for high quality wood pellets continues to grow for another year. ENplus® confirms that in 2020 the total production of certified pellets reached 12,3 million tons and expects that the quantity for the current year will exceed 14 million tons, as derived from the data provided by the producers to the European Council of the Pellet.
