Biogastur, with 4,5 megawatts, is the most powerful agro-industrial biogas plant in Spain. Located in Navia (Asturias) annually treats 400.000 tons of livestock waste, which are converted into biogas and solid and liquid fertilizers, generating the energy needed to supply 1.500 homes annually and stop issuing the equivalent to the CO2 produced by 17.000 cars.
Biogastur pointed out that this project is "an important opportunity and places Spain as a pioneer in the agro-industrial circular economy, thanks to the Biorefinery concept and the technology that is implemented in the Navia plant."
The group has dedicated more than five years to the previous works of engineering, development of new solutions and construction of the Plant. The annual treatment of 400.000 tons of livestock waste from more than 25.000 cows, allows the production of biogas with cogeneration and both solid and liquid fertilizers.
