Since the first edition of Expobiomasa, in 2006, pellet consumption in Europe in the residential sector has gone from 3 more than 18 million tons. In this same period, the consumption of domestic pellets in Spain has increased to the 700.000 tons per year that were consumed in 2020. And the forecasts suggest that it will exceed 800.000 tons in 2023.

Spanish producers guarantee the supply and increase production in a rhythmic way. Spain's productive capacity far exceeds consumption, which allows it to supply the national market and export to other European countries.

La ENplus certification of the pellet has consolidated as quality reference among consumers worldwide. 38 Spanish manufacturers have the certificate in force and work daily to maintain the required parameters, while increasing the levels of control and inspection in order to guarantee quality.

Manufacturers of pellets, olive bone, shells, ....
CIMEP will discuss the raw material, the situation of the national and international market and the evolution of the pellet-consuming facilities, topics that will be addressed by experts of international reference.
Mobile Pellet Plant, a pellet manufacturing plant. The pelletizadora is manufactured in a container of about 40 feet, ready to work. This pellet plant can be transported, which allows to relocate the production of pellets and change their location depending on where the raw material is.
Biomass in wood pellet format 100% natural that lacks additives and vegetable fats.
Biomass in normalized pellet format made with olive bone. More economical and can be used on the same equipment as the wood pellet.
Biomass combustion tests in the form of pine chips in a pilot combustion plant of 500 kWt grills at CEDER-CIEMAT. The emission of particles is clearly influenced by the quality of the chips.
The only "but" to the good performance of the pellet market, analyzed at the World Sustainable Energy Days conference, has been the stock tensions that, although it has not suffered any breakage, has been somewhat fair this season.
In general, the markets have transmitted good feelings, very different from the concerns that marked the World Sustainable Energy Days meetings two and three years ago.
During the 4th meeting of the European Federation of Olive Oil and Olive Biomass, the concern in the sector was highlighted in how to improve the circular economy of the olive grove sector, as well as the high productions and with difficult exit of the main biomass of the olive grove: the orujillo.
According to the latest statistics from the Natural Resources Institute of Finland, a total of 385.000 tons of wood pellets were produced in Finland in 2018, almost one fifth more than in the previous year, and the highest production in history. In most Mediterranean countries there is an important market for solid biofuels for heating applications in the residential sector. In these countries, in addition to pellets and wood chips, other solid fuels derived from the typical Mediterranean biomass are used.
